Update for 29 March...

March has been a very furtile month at Johnny Moronic Capturing with this been the 6th update for the month and 7 over a Johnny Moronic Television. There might even be more before the month is through :)

Today, I have capped a couple of Spanish films. A few weeks back I mentioned that I have capped a massive amount from one film and that film is Diario de una Ninfómana aka Diary of a Sex Addict. And as you will see below there's 15 videos from the film (a number of those are multiple scenes put together) and a deleted scene. And 20 collages... The film itself is a melodrama about a woman who is well, addicted to sex (if you haven't already worked that out). And man is it melodrama. Basically, she's addicted to the orgasm and it's starting to affect her life. She meets a man who is not great in the sack, but is satisfying her in a relationship and things start picking up, until she starts a new job and he turns, bizarrely, into a jealous prick. She leaves him, falls off the wagon, loses her job and turns to prostitution to satisfy her needs. And hey, it gets worse before the end... Also, there's a lot of sex, a lot, and some quite perverse acts, including some with a Coke bottle. And Belen Fabra is constantly naked. At least that's something because the plot is flat out laughable and simplistic and hell, just plain predictable.

Solo Quiero Caminar is the follow up to one of my favourite Spanish thrillers, Nadie Hablará de Nosotras Cuando Hayamos Muerto (Nobody Will Speak of Us When We're Dead). Victoria Abril reprises her role as Gloria Duque, but things are very different. She is now part of a group of female burgulars/prostitutes (including Ariadna Gil, Elena Anaya and Pilar Lopez de Ayala) who are found out mid robbery where Ariadna is caught, tortured and put in jail. Her sister (Elena Anaya) meets a Mexican gangster who she gives a blow job to and he's instantly in love, asks her to marry him and she accepts. But life in Mexico is very different. Elena reverts to her old ways without her sister and her husband get pissy and throws her out of a moving car, putting her into a coma. Ariadna now wants out of prison, which Victoria and Gloria help her with. And she wants revenge, and it comes in the form of a daring two part heist of the Mexican gang's vault. Of course, the golden boy of the gang (Diego Luna) catches wind of the plan, but is also captivated by Ariadna, who relies on male prostitutes for her sex. And that's just the half of it. It has almost as much savagery as the original (I'm still perplexed how Victoria Abril's character survived the first film), and in some ways is more engrossing, but the film peters out in the third act after a very interesting first two. Worth a look if you can find it.

And don't forget the blog. I'm about to write a new entry about the film Two Fists, One Heart. That's the Johnny Moronic Capturing Blog.

Update for 22 March...

Fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffucking hell, I'm tired of fixing the problems with this site. If you've clicked a link to get to this site in the past couple of weeks, you've probably seen a 403 Forbidden error. Well, if you press Enter, the site magically works. So this means that about 1/3 of all viewers can't access the site, which has given me no end of frustration, particularly dealing with the 'help desk' of my host. Let's just say, I know nothing, yet that's still more than the Servage help desk...

If you know anything about servers and access problems and would like to help, just contact me through my email address: johnnymoronic@hotmail.com

If not, just enjoy the caps and videos below :)

First up is the British film Incendiary about a woman dealing with the death of her son and husband after a terrorist attack, which occurred while she was having sex with another man. Ahhhhh, the stench of melodrama, I should've seen it coming. After the sex scene, which will be hard to beat for the best sex scene of the year, this film goes from one piece of melodrama to the next, each one getting more melodramatic than the last. The final piece of melodrama is such a head-shakingly awful twist, that I'm surprised I made it through. The longer this goes, the worse it gets. At least Michelle Williams gives good nudity and is actually pretty good despite the material.

Newcastle is an Australian coming of age surfing movie, set bizarrely enough in Newcastle (and during the time when the ship, the Pasha Bulka, was bogged in the ocean. Man, what cock-up that was...). Pretty standard stuff here, except for a surprise or two, one being the film has a fairly wanton approach to male nudity, which is rarely seen in films in general (not that I have a problem with that either, it's just not what I'm looking for...) and secondly and connected to the first, the film has homosexual overtones to it, which is rare for a surfing film (see particularly the recent Surfer, Dude for the desperation in being straight). Yet, this film is still less gay than that other Newcastle set film, Bootmen :) That's not to say there's something for the straight, there's plenty as you'll see below. It also has the most bizarre masturbation scene I've ever seen because I swear to you, the character wanks to surfing...

Then there's Inheritance, which I didn't watch because of the poor encoding on the DVD I got, particular the letterboxing, which is just appalling. The sex scene is poorly cropped, I apologise, it's not my fault, but you still see something at least. Whatever...

And don't forget the blog. I'm about to write a new entry about the film Two Fists, One Heart. That's the Johnny Moronic Capturing Blog.

Redux Friday

Today, I begin a new series where I attempt to redo or re-release old series that I have done, mainly because I can add something to them, or in the case of the stuff I did before this version of the website, just bring them back into the fold.

First up is a request, Simone Kessell from Stickmen, which I first capped almost 7 years ago. I've redone the caps and now there is high quality video. Surpringly, this is still a pretty watchable film, and it's interesting to see two bit players from Outrageous Fortune have fairly big roles in the film, but everyone else haven't seemed to have kicked on, including Simone, who at one stage was been touted for bigger things here in Australia. Shame...

I'd love to say that this will be a regular feature, but you know...

And don't forget the blog. Sure, I haven't updated it since last week, but I should have something new sometime this week. That's the Johnny Moronic Capturing Blog.

Update for 15 March

Back again with another small update, thanks to Underbelly taking up most of the first half of the week along with some site problems. It's neverending...

First up is Nobel Son, a weird little comedy about the son of a newly crowned Nobel Prize winner, who is kidnapped by the apparently illegitimate son of the Nobel Prize winner. But of course, things are not what they seem and the son finds himself in a bigger hole once the ransom has been paid and he has been released. In the end, the film digs it's own hole and has a hell of a time trying to get out it. That's not to say that it doesn't have it's moments, it's just a victim of it's own strangeness.

The Guitar is a hard film to get into because it takes a stock situation, imminent death from cancer in 3 months, and takes it into a different direction. Instead of taking the making peace with friends and family route, it decides to take the road less traveled and have it's lead, Saffron Burrows, take the selfish route. So she rents a loft apartment, maxes out her credit cards to buy all the good things in life and a guitar, and attempts to live out her dying days along, content by herself with her stuff. But her only human contact, a pizza delivery girl (Paz de la Huerta) and a delivery man have other plans. The Guitar is not a great film, but I enjoyed it a helluva lot more than I thought I would, but it's a hard film to recommend (although Saffron Burrows spends extended periods naked throughout the film).

And don't forget the blog. Sure, I haven't updated it since last week, but I should have something new sometime this week. That's the Johnny Moronic Capturing Blog.

Update for 8 March

Haven't had time to do much, mainly because the television side of the site is taking up most of the time, particularly Underbelly. You see, I didn't haven't this problem this time last year... So some stuff has to be put back a bit, including one movie (I won't say what yet, but you won't know it either) that has so much nudity and other sexy stuff that it could take me quite a while to finish.

Just some brief Australian stuff today, first up in The Tender Hook, a film set in 1920s Australia about a love triangle between a woman, her brutish boxing promoter boyfriend and a young boxer who comes under the promoter's tutelage. Sadly, the film doesn't have much to recommend, it's the same ol' love triangle nonsense, infuriatingly so. It's also could become one of Australia's biggest flops, with a 7 million budget it's only made $40,000 ($15 of those were mine). And it's DVD release is practically non-existent. That says it all really...

The Square on the other hand is a low budget noir-ish thriller about a married man who attempts to run away with his younger lover (Claire van der Boom) after she finds her boyfriend's stolen bag of money, but it goes wrong, horribly (of course!). Being a noir fan, I loved this film, it also has a Coen Brothers quality to it (from the Edgerton brothers...), shame it didn't do much business (much better than The Tender Hook though), And it has a great 2 DVD set I highly recommend you take a look at.

I have finally (after 3 years) gotten around to doing videos of Rose Byrne from The Goddess of 1967. The caps are from the original series. I said when I first capped this that Rose doesn't have to do nudity again as long as she never does a film this unwatchable again. So far she's lived up to the promise, although The Tender Hook...

Also, I have a new update over at the blog about the new Australian film Beautiful. Read all about it here: Johnny Moronic Capturing Blog.

Update for 1 March

Well, it's been awhile... Of course, it hasn't if you follow the television part of the site. But, it's time to go back to the movies...

Before I start, I'm giving the blog another go. I'm going to be less discerning about it, but you can read more about it at the all new Johnny Moronic Capturing Blog.

Today, I begin with the 'horror' film The Haunting of Molly Hartley and well, this film isn't scary and plays everything so desperately by the book that there's simply no challenge in watching this film. Also I think this film has the record for the number of fake scares. There's at least a dozen and all of then can be seen from a mile off. Let's just say that Molly Hartley is jumpy. Also they seem to have raided TV shows for the cast, with really only Haley Bennett not having a regular gig on some TV show. I've taken out the best bits to save you the trouble of watching it.

Taken is a superior action film, once you get past the first 20 minutes. The first 20 minutes are laughable, particularly Maggie Grace's character who is 17 going on 7, but once she gets kidnapped, the fun begins and Liam Neeson kicks some serious arse. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a lot like Commando or for those with more snobbish taste, The Searchers. Hollywood simply doesn't make these films anymore, that were a staple of the 80s and early 90s, instead action films now have to have greater meanings or a superhero. Who cares! Just kick some arse...

Chaos Theory is a Ryan Reynolds film meaning it looks like that it could become subversive, but never does and is never as funny as it should be. But, his films are watchable, just forgettable. And chicks throw themselves at him. Nothing more to add...

The Secret is a remake of an OK Korean film about a mother and daughter who have a car accident, but apparently the mother inhabits her daughter's body to keep her alive. So the daughter starts to act like her mother and of course, attempts to continue the relationship with her husband, cue uncomfortable scenes. While never going into the area of incest in great detail, there's defintiely a hint of it. But that's also the problem. Both versions take the easy way out, they don't want to get too confronting and the inevitable happy resolution occurs. Again, watchable, but a missed opportunity. And this is 3rd time I've capped Olivia Thirlby in the past few months. I must like her or something...

Videos are now accessible from the posts below. Hopefully that will make it easier for you...
