That's a biggun'...

27/6 - Another Johnny Moronic Television update.

22/6 - I now have a RapidShare mirror for my videos from 2007-2008, which will help give you access to something resembling the site when it goes down for bandwidth reasons. You can access this from the Yahoo! Group or the RSS file.

It's been a while since I've had a huge update, so let's see if I remember how to do it... ; ) 60 collages, 41 videos and 24 women.

Quick summaries of each film:
Lust, Caution - Excellent wartime epic from Ang Lee with plenty of nudity and lengthy, multi-positional sex scenes that are well, some of the most erotic sex scenes in recent memory. I wonder if Tang Wei will ever appear in another film cos this is some debut.
Shutter - Another Asian horror remake, this time from a Thai film which I think is pretty overrated (main reason: too many fake scares). The remakes has less fake scares, but is well, shoddy. Low grade actors (although Megumi Okina is always welcome, she of The Grudge: Jun On), unconvincing script (not helped by the original story) and how come everyone speaks English in Japan? Bring on the Korean horror remakes (Mirrors and The Uninvited, both original films are not easy to watch; particularly A Tale of Two Sisters, so I don't hold out for good remakes).
All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane - Surprisingly good very low budget romantic comedy with the title pretty much summing up the plot. Charlotte Gregg is definitely worth looking out for in the future (something about two nude scenes in the first Underbelly episode I'm not supposed to know about...)
St Trinian's - This film is obviously not made for me cos it's pretty lame (the constant Mr Darcy/Colin Firth jokes grate the most). If seen a couple of the earlier St. Trinian's films and they are much more watchable than this. I think I've even seen the soft core St. Trinian's film...
Jack and Jill vs the World - Starts off as a pretty good romantic comedy, but ends just as lamely as every other one. Not bad considering it stars both Freddie Prinze Jr and scratchy voiced Taryn Manning.
All The Boys Love Mandy Lane - An interesting attempt to subvert the usual teen horror cliches, but succumbs to them in the end. And if you can't guess who the killer is going to be, you really are dumb...
La Capture - Strange French-Canadian film about a woman who helps her mother escape her abusive father by kidnapping him. Has some truly bizarre clothed sex scenes, but is never less than interesting. And I like Catherine de Lean a lot and she carries this film's weirdness well.
Fool's Gold - Hmmmmm... Next...
Ne Le Dis à Personne (Tell No One) - I love this French romantic thriller (this is the 3rd time I've seen it!), particularly the 2nd act which is absolutely brilliant (the 1st and 3rd acts are good but uneven). And Marie-Josee Croze is one of my faves.
El Lobo (The Wolf) - Ah, the Spanish love making films about Franco and ETA (well, a lot of the one's I've seen anyway) and this one combines both and is nothing new (it's actually similar to Donnie Brasco in plot).
Puffball - Nicolas Roeg used to be a great director and hasn't directed a feature length film in nearly 20 years and this is a strange choice for a comeback. A rather perplexing film about a family conspiring to get Kelly Reilly's character pregnant with a baby boy so they can steal the baby for themselves. Has a bizarre walk on part for Donald Sutherland that only reminds me that Roeg directed the vastly superior horror film Don't Look Now. Kelly Reilly's sure is pretty and has some bizarre sex scenes including a literal roll in the hay... Ugh.

That'll do...

OK, back onto the normal updates, just a quick synopsis of films featured in this update. Normal Adolescent Behaviour is an interesting look at a group of teenagers who alienate themselves from their peers and every Saturday night participate in group sex. Gee, if this is a true reflection of modern teenagers (and I'm not that far out of being one), things have changed quite dramatically...

Hallam Foe focuses on the boy of the title who is forced to move to Edinburgh to get away from his scheming stepmother (Claire Forlani) and spies a woman (Sophia Myles) who looks like his dead mother and becomes fascinated with her. I liked the film, but it's not everyone. Love Lies Bleeding is a B thriller about a down and out couple who come across a bag of money whose owner happens to be a corrupt cop. It's an OK film, but there are better B thillers around. Finally, Berkeley is about a boy going to college (Berkeley natch) during the Vietnam war and times well, they are becoming quite different. Of course he gets involved the peace movement, gets laid and learns some life lessons, yeah it's pretty boring...
