The final Spanish update again...
4/6 - A couple of series of Leonor Watling below.
27/5 - Another update for Johnny Moronic Television.
26/5 - I now have a RapidShare mirror for my videos from 2007-2008, which will help give you access to something resembling the site when it goes down for bandwidth reasons. You can access this from the Yahoo! Group or the RSS file.
Alright, I'll finish off the Spanish update with this quick update, this time a couple of Leonor Watling series, one from Inconscientes an interesting comedy/mystery film set in the time of Freud. Not for everyone, but it was pretty good. The Oxford Murders is a convoluted and at times frustrating film about a series of murders that seem to be following a pattern. Both films have a go at being intelligent which may alienate some viewers, but hey to each their own.
Videos for this update are now mirrored here.
And now an update on the site I'm plugging Celeb VIP. It now has $1 trials. Check out the massive amount of content and decide for yourself if it's worth joining. It is updated daily with plenty of new stuff. Also, the monthly prices are down. So there's no reason not to go take a look. I recommend it.

So, this update is a week late, what are you going to do about it? I gave you nude caps of Mischa Barton instead, I don't see anyone complaining...
I promised I'd introduce you to Mexican actress Martha Higareda and here she is in 3 of her Mexican films. Hopefully in the next few days I'll put some caps of her from Street Kings, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. And God damn she is sexy. And she has some nice scenes of nudity, including some comical ones in Niñas Mal, which is basically a teen chick flick, but with nudity. When does that happen in Hollywood teen chick flicks? Hopefully Street Kings will lead to bigger and better roles in Hollywood like countrywoman Ana Claudia Talancon.
I'll see what happens next week, might be another Spanish update, might be some other stuff, might be both...

OK, where were we. Spanish women... An even bigger update this week, but I can tell you about these films because I actually watched them...
Caótica Ana is the latest belated film from Julio Medem (his last film was Sex and Lucia in 2001) and it touches on themes that his earlier films have. Countdown from 10 to 0 over a four year period from ages 18-22, we follow Ana (Manuela Vellés) as she is given the opportunity to explore her artistic skills and discovers love. As with Medem's earlier films, it's disjointed as not easy to follow, but even more so this time around sadly. Manuela is excellent on debut, but the film is all over the place and the final scene set in New York is grotesque (although amusingly so at a time, which is cut out if video for obvious reasons, although you may work it out) and completely out of place. Disappointing cos I loved Tierra, Lovers of the Arctic Circle and Sex and Lucia.
Yo Soy La Juani is the latest film from Bigas Luna (Golden Balls, Son de Mar, Jamon Jamon, The Tit and the Moon ;) etc, a couple of which I've capped). This one is about Juani (Verónica Echegui) and her friend who decide to leave their go nowhere lives and cheating or violent boyfriends behind to go to Madrid to make something of their lives. Juani wants to become a big time actress, her friend Vane wants a boob job. But of course, being a big time actress is hard and Juani doesn't want to learn English or go to acting classes. Luna's films are usually pretty cheeky and because of it, they are hit and miss. This is a little more serious than usual, but still hit and miss and the characters aren't exactly engaging. We call them 'bogans' here in Australia. Don't know what you call them elsewhere, but I'll go out on a limb and say the type of people that would audition for Big Brother :D
Paz Vega is haaaaaaaawwwwwwt! There is said it. And so she is Di Que Si, but fuck me this film is bad, in fact it takes a rather bizarre turn after following the usual love story path, and it just dies horribly. Did i sat that Paz is haaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwtt...
Then there's Savage Grace, and well is film isn't very good, even if it pertains to be. Basically it's about a part of the mega rich Bakeland family and the incredibly close relationship between mother (Julianne Moore) and son. Yeah, we're talking incest here and it's uncomfortable, but nothing is ever explained, it's just a series of events that happen that somehow lead to the ending which is inevitable, but comes out of nowhere. It's rare I say a film is too short, but this is definitely missing a fair chunk of explaining.
Salamina Soldiers is a well made film about a writer/teacher (Ariadna Gil) trying to discover the circumstances behind a shooting in the Spanish Civil War to the point of obsession and at the expense of her own life and loves (Did I say she's a lesbian..?). I enjoyed it, it is a well told story and well worth a look. Ants in the Mouth also stars Ariadna Gil as the former lover of a convicted armed robber who is looking for the money from the robbery he did time for. But he comes into some resistance from her husband who is a powerful and very corrupt Cuban politician. A solid film without being anything new or special, but worth a look.
Finally, Ladrones stars two of the best up and coming stars of Spanish cinema Maria Valverde (who I've capped here previously in Melissa P.) and Juan José Ballesta in this excellent film about a pickpocket who spies a girl (Maria Valverde) shoplifting and falls in love from her from afar. Eventually he talks to her and they become a pickpocket team and fall in love. It's a simple story extremely well acted and told.
Next week I'll introduce you to Martha Higareda. She is currently starring in Street Kings with Keanu Reeves.

Haven't I already done this, only a month or so ago. Ah well, I now have plenty more Spanish stuff and considering there isn't much new coming out at the moment, I've got some time to produce some stuff for you. And in case you haven't realised it yet, I like Spanish actresses.
I'd love to tell you my opinion of these films, but my Spanish is so marginal I can't help you, but I can get the gist of them. Anyway, Natalia Verbeke is one of my faves, so coming across a couple of her recent films was more than enough excuse to cap her.
More to come in the coming weeks, maybe even during the week, not just the weekend. Plus I've got some East of Everything caps I'm working through and that will come up on Johnny Moronic Television and the last aired episode of Canal Road now that it's been dumped, and probably return at the end of the year out of ratings to get the Australian content quota up... Oh, alright, it isn't a good show, it's extremely unfocused and the ongoing storyline is uninteresting, but they could've at least finished showing it instead of another lot of fucking Gordon Ramsey (talk about overload).

1/5 - A new Johnny Moronic Television update. There'll be a Spanish update on the weekend and for a while to come...
21/4 - Update continues below
20/4 - I now have a RapidShare mirror for my videos from 2007-2008, which will help give you access to something resembling the site when it goes down for bandwidth reasons. You can access this from the Yahoo! Group or the RSS file.
Walk All Over Me could've been a good film, but sadly, it takes the easy way out. What starts out as a humourous look at the domination game drifts quickly into a standard crime caper that has one or two moments, but really isn't as interesting as it could've been. Ah well... At least we see some sexy dominatrix stuff from Leelee and Tricia...
Sprial is a surprisingly good psychological thriller about a troubled man who meets a chatty, but lonely girl (Amber Tamblyn) and she helps him get his artistic juices flowing as she poses for his paintings. But there's a troubling secret that he has and she's about to find out. I liked it, sure it was a slow burn, but Spiral is never less than interesting as the relationship develops. And there's a certain likeness to a film I really love called Audition, and that ain't a bad thing.
