Update for 10 October...

I might not have done much recently, but that will change, as there is a planned update with plenty of HD material, which will be shown in a slightly different way. There's also a few plans for the site that I'm working on and having some success with, so look out for that in the future.

Just a quick note on today's update, well I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry is a typical Adam Sandler film, although I've gone a bit off his films since the days of Happy Gilmore and The Waterboy. They just don't seem as funny anymore. And let's face it, there's only one reason to see this film (see below).

And now an update on the site I'm plugging Celeb VIP. It now has $1 trials. Check out the massive amount of content and decide for yourself if it's worth joining. It is updated daily with plenty of new stuff. Also, the monthly prices are down. So there's no reason not to go take a look. I recommend it.

Update for 30 September...

Finally working through some of the series mentioned in the Coming Soon section this week, which means I have less of a backlog. I know how impatient you guys can get...

Rise: Blood Hunter is an OK vampire film, proably highlighted more by the fact that sort of known actors just seem to pop up all the time. Hey, there's Cameron Richardson getting naked, she must have a big role. No she doesn't. Look over there, Carla Gugino as a hot vampire, oh, now she's dead 10 minutes later. Shit, there's Michael Chiklis popping in and out, does he have a big role, well not until the end. Wow, Robert Forster, he was great in Jackie Brown, 30 seconds later he's never seen again. Ah, there's Mako, he doesn't appear often in big films, but he's only briefly in this film too. NIck Lachey get's the shit kicked out of him, how can this film be bad? Is that Marilyn Manson looking like a big wuss behind the bar? Is that Samaire Armstrong swimming naked in the pool? Simon Rex? Margo Harshman? Eldon Henson? Who next is going to pop up? Now if only the film was worth watching...

Oh wait, Lucy Liu keeps getting naked but the scenes just keep getting darker and darker. I put the brightness on further than I usually do, but still nothing. I suggest if you're desperate to turn the brightness way up, but only if you're desperate...

Oh Heather Graham, what happened? Oh right, Killing Me Softly, quite possibly the worst film of this decade. So, now all we get is this puzzle of a film which apparently seems to be about a woman working through her possibilities in her life after being a junkie. There's so many stupid scenes in this film it becomes hard to watch by the end (one scene in particular is as subtle as a sledgehammer). Then there's the girl-girl kiss, completely pointless, but absolutely watchable, a lot like video clip for Rihanna's diabolical 'Under My Umbrella'.

Then there's Gillian Anderson going British, which she's done quite a bit recently. But this film, Straightheads aka Closure, is completely different to the period stuff she did. Straightheads is about a businesswoman who convinces an alarm installer she only just met to join her for a party. They get it on, then leave the party, annoy some car they pass on the road, have an accident, then the people in the car come up and assault the alarm installer and rape Gillian. She then finds one of the participants and goes about getting a brutal revenge. Meh, what a load of shit. This film is all over the place and extremely ugly, so all I can recommend is Gillian getting naked.

The Killing Floor and Stephanie Daley are both solid films. The Killing Floor was a bit of a surprise with a pretty good twist and Reiko Aylesworth from 24 was quite sultry.

Finally, Dirty Filthy Love is an interesting British film about a man trying to deal with his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). There's a cute girl in this film who I didn't think much about except maybe I just cap the scene and slip it in some update later in the year when I've run out of stuff to do. Then, this new show from America premieres on local TV a couple of weeks ago called Damages with Rose Byrne, so my interest is piqued because of my undying love of her. Then, this woman who plays the sister of Rose's boyfriend in the series appears and the first thing I think is "I've seen this woman somewhere before," and then I see the name and it was the woman from Dirty Filthy Love, Anastasia Griffith. Mmm, freckles... (see Cameron Richardson and Lucy Liu also). I'm also making caps from Damages because there is some nice scenes in the series, so look out for them in the near future.

Update for 21 September...

Only one series for this update, simply because I haven't had the time to get around to some of the others listed in the Coming Soon section. They'll come though... I promise.

OK, for this update I've gone with Hostel Part 2 (which wasn't listed in the coming soon section). OK, first up, the warning, yeah, it gets violent, but you really knew that already. Look, I found the first Hostel an interesting enough film that was ruined by a terrible final act (which is where all the action happened, go figure). Sadly, by the second film the mystery has gone and you know what's going to happen and even though the film has more elaborate tortures and told from different perspectives, it still suffers from the fact that torture is 'boring'. Who wants to see someone suffer? (Me, obviously...)

And one more thing, what's up the aversion to showing vagina in this film. Sure, there's a quarter of a second of it during the Bathory re-enactment torture, but that seems like an accident considering the rest of the scene. There's a ludicrous quick cutaway of Vera Jordanova in the opening of the film (alright, maybe she didn't want to go full frontal). Contrast this with a penis being shown of the male model and then there's the (spoiler) castration scene. I've got my theories, but they are for another place.

I'm back baby

Still? Actually I didn't reallt have a break from capping because I still watched an amazing amount of films and capped some of them, even started to put them into row and you can see which ones I have done this for in the coming soon section in the side menu. A quite nice selection of what is coming over the next month.

First up, the little Australian film that could, The Jammed. This film was going to go straight to DVD until it got a token release paid for by the producer on one screen here in Melbourne. But, it got some good reviews and was for the most part sold out during the first week (I personally got shut out of 2 sessions!). Finally, with some attention it got a few more screens in Sydney and extended screening in Melbourne. So, that meant the DVD release was pushed back to early 2008 right? Well, it looked like it until I went to my local DVD store and found they had one copy. I actually saw it at the Melbourne screen a couple of days before I got it on DVD. Thank you very much...

So, is the film any good? Yeah, it's actaully alright, not the best Australian film of the year (that goes to Noise, which should appear here in a month or so). It is about a woman who unwittingly gets involved in finding the daughter of a Chinese woman. The daughter is in involved in a local sex trafficking racquet with two other girls. They then go about getting the daughter out, but of course it is not that easy. This film is for the most part very good, it has a few flaws, but it really is surprising that this film couldn't get distributed here in Australia, but in the end, it worked out even better for the makers.

Next up is a couple of films featuring Olivia Wilde. The Death and Life of Bobby Z is a a bit of a mess and Paul Walker's star status is fading fast (I might've liked the weird arse Running Scared, but hardly anyone saw it and this film went straight to DVD). Bickford Shmeckler's Cool Ideas is a charming little comedy, but man is this film slight and instantly forgettable, but fun nonetheless. And plus I prefer Olivia when she is a brunette, and man have I capped her a lot. And look out for the cap of Cheryl Hines, who plays Larry David's wife on the brilliant Curb Your Enthausism, in a bikini. Wowser!

Finally, Jimmy and Judy, which is sort of Natural Born Killers lite (well, it mentions it on the DVD cover and that's not saying much cos I hate Natural Born Killers...). Basically, an outcast girl (Rachael Bella) falls for the socially maladjusted Jimmy (the pudgy Edward Furlong) and they run away from their lives getting into trouble everywhere they go. Has it's moments and a fair bit of flashing from Rachael, which means the movie could've been called Girls Gone Wild, but inevitably we've seen this film a thousand times before and nothing new is added here although it tries with the whole movie told 'Cannibal Holocaust/Blair Witch Project' style, from the perspective of the camera that Jimmy mostly holds.
