Update for 19 August

Well, I've finally moved away from the Australian actresses, actually, I've pretty much run out of Australian things (I've got the TV show The Circuit and that's about it). So, it's back to the international movies. I haven't been down to the DVD shop in a while, and as I'm running out of things to cap, I'll have to go down and start scraping the bottom of the shelf again...

First up is Gabrielle Anwar from 9 Tenths, a film about three people, a couple and the property's worker, who fight over who owns the property, but when a terrorism attack occurs and they could be the last people around, the fight escalates into a power struggle for not just the house, but for the woman (Gabrielle Anwar) caught in the middle. It pretty surprising to see Gabrielle get naked again considering she's been relectant to do so, particularly in the dodgy B grade films she has been appearing in. And she still looks great, as my memory of her is looking gorgeous in the film Things To Do in Denver When You're Dead and that was over a decade ago.

Sticking on the subject of surprising nudity, next up is Catalina Sandino Moreno in The Hottest State. She was great in Maria, Full of Grace (hell, she was Oscar nominated, not that I give a shit about the Oscars) and she was good in Fast Food Nation. But in this film, made by Ethan Hawke and based on his dodgy novel, it's all so ponderous about whether or not a man and a woman are going to get together. And when they do, well, the dress comes off and nothing underneath. Wow! Almost makes the film worth watching. Of course, I've saved you the trouble.

Reckon the films couldn't get worse. You don't know me very well. Redline is well, quite awful, but of course you've gotta have a hot chick driving a car. There's so many ridiculous characters and plot developments it is absolutely laughable. A couple of favourites: A so-called crime kingpin who wins the girl (Nadia Bjorlin) as a bet in a race and acts as if she is his princess, even when she royally screws him at the end. The hyperactive movie producer who is clearly Jerry Bruckheimer. A ring-in driver brought in for the final race who just happens to be the driver who killed her father (we didn't know it was deliberate until the final scene by the way). I can't think of any other gems at the moment, not that it's worth remembering. Nadia is pretty damn hot though...

Then there's True True Lie, an OK thriller about a woman released from a mental institution who continues to have nightmares about an incident that may or may not have happened. But the longer she hangs around her friends, it becomes more obvious that this incident definitely did happen and she was set up by her friends. Nice girls including Jaime King (practically nothing to cap in the film from her though), but the thriller is a bit deriative for my liking.

Also, I will continue to plug the website Celeb VIP. So go take a look and see for yourself.

Chances part 2 (24 episodes now capped)

So, finally, finally, the 3rd volume of Chances gets released 3 years after the first two volumes. So, it's time to go back to the trenches and trawl through another 8 episodes of this ridiculous piece of Australian TV nostaglia.

Now on the Chances page is the last 24 episodes from the series, which had 120 episodes all up. Whoever chose these episodes chose a bizzare lot of episodes again involving a tribal sex god named Utangi who hungers after some creatures testicles to give him virality. Then there's the tribal queen who bizarrely speaks English because she worked as an archery instructor at Club Med (best line ever!). The Eva Braun necklace makes another appearance apparently... Then there's a billionaire who wants to change into the lead character through some bizarre technique, comes back as a younger person who apparently spread the AIDS virus (I think). The best of all though, God appears in the Melbourne library as a woman. I don't remember seeing God when I used to go there, just hours of boring study...

Then there's the copious amounts of sex and nudity. There's no way any work got done at the ad agency or the gaming room. Maybe that's why ad creatives constantly rip off movies and TV shows in their ads...

Here's hoping they release more episodes from the series. I get the feeling it won't happen as it took three years to get volume 3 out. It'd be nice to see the Tammy McIntosh nudity and anyone else who got their gear off for that matter. We'll see...

Australian Update part 11

I just can't stop with these Australian updates. It helps that there is not much around to cap and I'm all pretty bored with doing much at the moment, so let's bolster the Australian collection cos I am a bit of a completist.

First up is The Heartbreak Kid, a film that was then turned into the TV series Heartbreak High. The film is actually pretty good look at that age old dilemma of student falling for teacher. It stars one of my faves Claudia Karvan and she has been a fave since The Big Steal and it was good to finally get around to capping the film.

I saw a video of Sophie Monk from a recent episode of Entourage and being the completist I am, I decided to add a version to this site. So, it was a nice surprise to see another fave of mine, Emma Lung, also appear in the episode. I didn't realise that she was over in Hollywood. And of course, just to rub it in, both Sophie and Emma play a couple of British women :D

I've had Pledge This! on my hard drive for 8 months and I decided to do a clean up of my hard drive (something you have to do often when you are a capper, to constant frustration), so I couldn't avoid this film anymore. I'll be damned if I cap Paris Hilton from the film, but Holly Valance appears for a brief couple of scenes, so I'll cap that delete it and move on. And what I watched of the film was more than enough to realise I wasn't missing anything. Ouch! But now it's gone, thankfully.

Apparently the Chances DVD is out, so I'm going to have a check if that is so (we've been disappointed before). If it is so, I'll grab it and it should be the next update at the site.

Also, I will continue to plug the website Celeb VIP. So go take a look and see for yourself.
